Ladies clamour for WFU group
LADIES have been queuing up to join the new North East Wales branch of the Womens Food and Farming Union.
Launched at last week’s Denbigh & Flint Show, it more than doubled in size on the day. It now has an incredible 60 members, dwarfing other WFU branches.
The branch meets monthly at different locations. A new members meeting is being held at the Anchor Hotel, Ruthin, on Tuesday, September 14, 8pm. Karen Bellis, 07831 690323 or 01978 790687.
YFC thinks big
LAST year 716 “powder junkies and snow virgins” headed to Alpine ski slopes as part of the YFC’s annual Snowploughing event. Next January organisers are hoping to take 1,000 young farmers to Val D’Isere. Basic YFC packages start at £399 but members can make their own way. Activities to include “a whole lot of partying”. Next generation
NFU Cymru is inviting members to a Next Generation forum at its stand at the Merioneth County Show, Harlech, tomorrow, 5pm.
Union president Ed Bailey and policy officer Dafydd Jarrett will update the union’s latest work and outline policy issues, including Glastir.
